Kevin O'Leary Bets $1,000 on Kalshi, Predicting Timothée Chalamet Wins Oscar for Best Actor

Gate News reports that on March 16, during the 98th Academy Awards red carpet, American reality TV star Kevin O'Leary, a regular investor on "Shark Tank," revealed that he bet $1,000 on Timothée Chalamet winning Best Actor on the prediction market Kalshi. On the prediction market Polymarket, the current probability of "Timothée Chalamet winning the 98th Academy Award for Best Actor" is 31%. Chalamet was nominated for Best Actor for his role as ping-pong player Marty Mauser in the biographical film "Marty Supreme" directed by Josh Safdie. If he wins, at age 30, he will become the second youngest Best Actor winner in Oscar history. Chalamet's main competitors include Michael B. Jordan, nominated for "Sinners"; Leonardo DiCaprio, nominated for "One Battle After Another"; and other nominees such as Ethan Hawke ("Blue Moon") and Wagner Moura ("The Secret Agent").
