Optimism cofounders: Ethereum is entering a customized phase, driving the deployment of enterprise-grade applications

Gate News message, March 31, at EthCC[9], Optimism co-founder Karl Floersch said that Ethereum is entering a critical phase of transitioning from technical standardization to “professionalization and customization.” Karl pointed out that the technical evolution of Layer 2 has progressed from the initial stages of independent construction and EVM equivalence to a modular architecture that supports more specialized needs. For large-scale enterprise adoption, the current technical priorities are to provide configurable compliance, deterministic latency SLAs (service level agreements), and a customized fee-economic model. Karl emphasized that with open and “no lock-in” architectures such as OP Stack, enterprises can tailor blockchain space to specific business needs without breaking ecosystem compatibility. Leveraging Ethereum’s battle-tested security and interoperability, blockchain technology is accelerating the migration from Web2-style models to Web3-native applications, with the goal of upgrading the underlying infrastructure of global financial systems and enterprise systems.
