August - Laut DL News hat DefiLlama Daten gezeigt, dass der gesamte Lock-up-Position-Wert (TVL) des Ethereum Layer2 Netzwerks Mode Network von seinem Höchststand von 582 Millionen US-Dollar im Mai 2024 um 99 % auf etwa 4 Millionen US-Dollar gefallen ist. Der Preis des nativen Tokens MODE ist im Vergleich zum historischen Höchststand um über 98 % gefallen. Mode Network erhielt im Januar 2024 eine Förderung von 5,3 Millionen Dollar von der Optimism Stiftung und zog kurzfristig durch eine Airdrop-Initiative eine große Menge an Liquidität an. Doch mit der Reduzierung der Anreize generieren die über 50 DeFi-Projekte auf der Kette nahezu keine tatsächlichen Einnahmen mehr. Bemerkenswert ist, dass die offizielle Website des Projekts weiterhin einen TVL von 500 Millionen Dollar anzeigt, was stark von den on-chain Daten abweicht.
