Is identity recognition accurate? Are the directions following established rules? Are monitoring and data usage crossing boundaries?
All of these must be independently auditable, not just explained afterward by the system or manufacturer. Once autonomous systems begin to influence human actions, determining the boundaries and outcomes of behavior, and if there is no verifiable decision-making chain, they can slip from tools into unaccountable governance entities. This is not technological progress but risk transfer.
A truly acceptable border autonomous system must have clear auditability; each judgment must be traceable to which model? Under what conditions was it executed? Did it comply with authorization and compliance boundaries? All need to be proven!
Otherwise, autonomy does not equate to efficiency gains but to an expansion of power without accountability. In such highly sensitive scenarios, verifiable AI is not a bonus but a baseline!
