On the morning of March 25, the 2026 Zhejiang Merchants Bank Zhejiang City Football League (hereinafter referred to as “2026 Zhejiang Merchants Bank Wuyue Cup”) press conference was held in Hangzhou. The schedule, ticket prices, player composition, and other key information were officially announced. As the main sponsor, Zhejiang Merchants Bank partnered with the organizers to host this event, marking an important step in the integrated development of finance and sports industries. The tournament will run from April 6 to mid-June across 11 cities in the province, featuring 62 exciting matches, offering Zhejiang residents a homegrown “football feast.”
A Ticket, Multiple Experiences: Activating New Consumer Scenes Through the Excitement of the Event
The press conference explained that the name “Wuyue Cup” carries multiple meanings. “Wu Yue” embodies Zhejiang’s thousand-year history and represents the region’s core spirit of “standing at the forefront, embracing all rivers, and persevering,” which aligns closely with the fighting spirit of football. Naming the Zhejiang City Football League the “Wuyue Cup” is not only a tribute to Zhejiang’s rich cultural tradition but also a unifying symbol of pride and dreams for the 11 cities across the province.
To encourage more citizens to experience the excitement of football and boost event consumption enthusiasm, the basic ticket price is set at only 20 yuan. Students under 16 with valid ID can enjoy half-price tickets. Notably, each spectator will receive a “spectator package” worth at least 40 yuan. For example, the opening match on April 6 in Jiaxing includes local specialties like Wufangzhai zongzi, Hangzhou white chrysanthemum, and cultural souvenirs, allowing fans to enjoy local products while watching the game. Outside the stadium, football markets, intangible cultural heritage crafts, trendy snacks, and agricultural products gather, creating a comprehensive experience where “one ticket equals watching the game, entertainment, shopping, and tasting delicious food.”
It is reported that the “Wuyue Cup” has been incorporated into Zhejiang’s “14th Five-Year Plan” as a key mass sports project. It will form a “dual IP pattern” with Zhejiang Airlines (ZheBA), creating a “basketball movement across the city, and football excitement” to drive the entire province toward active participation, vibrant cities, booming consumption, thriving industries, and football fever.
