Meituan Customer Service Responds to Android Users About Deleted Images: About 100 People Affected, Will Assist in Recovery and Compensation

Recently, some Android users reported receiving alerts that images and videos were unexpectedly deleted while using the Meituan app. In response, Meituan’s official customer service stated: “This issue mainly occurs when, in very rare cases, the Android system automatically clears cache and encounters conflicts with third-party SDKs, leading to anomalies. Since the problem was identified, over 180 users have contacted customer service, with an estimated potential impact on several hundred users. We promptly conducted an emergency fix after discovering the issue.”

Meituan customer service clarified that this problem only affects the local phone system and that the Meituan app does not read, store, or transfer any user personal data. User privacy and account information remain unaffected. After discovering the issue, Meituan quickly formed a dedicated technical support team, collaborating with professional security experts to help affected users recover their data. Currently, Meituan customer service has apologized to each affected user and will bear all costs and compensate for any losses. (Jiemian News)
