Bell Textron has completed the first AH-1Z and UH-1Y helicopters upgraded under the US Marine Corps’ (USMC) Structural and Power Improvements for NextGen Effects (SPINE) program. These aircraft are now undergoing flight tests at NAS Patuxent River to finalize the SPINE configuration. The program aims to modernize the H-1 fleet to accommodate advanced weapons and capabilities, supporting future operational requirements and improving survivability.
