US "Ford" aircraft carrier fire reported to have lasted over 30 hours

The U.S. aircraft carrier “Ford” experienced a fire on the 12th that lasted over 30 hours, causing more than 600 people to lose their beds and have to sleep on tables or the floor. Reports state that the fire started in a dryer in the main laundry area of the carrier and quickly spread; it took the crew over 30 hours to extinguish it. The fire did not cause damage to the carrier’s propulsion systems, and the vessel remains in full operational status. However, two individuals aboard received treatment for “non-life-threatening injuries” due to the fire, and dozens reported inhaling smoke from the blaze. The “Ford” has been on its maritime mission for 10 months, initially moving from the Mediterranean to Latin America to participate in military operations against Venezuela, and recently transitioning from the Caribbean to the Middle East to engage in military actions against Iran. It is reported that the “Ford” may continue this mission until May, which is twice the usual duration of carrier deployments. Recently, the carrier has been plagued by malfunctions, including issues with approximately 650 toilets being clogged. Previously, the U.S. Navy denied reports of severe failures in the “Ford’s” sanitation systems.
