Alibaba Cloud showcases "Full-Stack AI" at MWC
The 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC) brought together over 2,900 exhibitors from 219 countries and regions, attracting approximately 109,000 professional attendees. Undoubtedly, artificial intelligence became the star of this year’s event, transforming what was once a telecommunications exhibition into a “battlefield” for AI.
According to statistics, this year, the number of participating companies from China exceeded 350, ranking third globally. From communication infrastructure to end-user applications, Chinese companies are shifting from “product exports” to “technology leadership.” In cutting-edge fields such as 5G-A, AI large models, 6G, and satellite communications, Chinese companies have evolved from participants to rule-makers.
The popularity of MWC confirms a consensus of the times: AI is transitioning from being a “showpiece” to a “necessity.” From smartphones and PCs to automobiles, and from factories to cities, artificial intelligence is reshaping various industries at an unprecedented pace.
However, amidst the excitement, a calm examination is needed: true intelligent transformation is never just a victory of a single product or model, but a comprehensive project involving full-stack capabilities, global services, and an all-encompassing ecosystem.
This was precisely the major takeaway for Phoenix Finance when encountering “the world’s leading full-stack AI service provider,” Alibaba Cloud, during the exhibition.
01
From Winter Olympics Empowerment to Qianwen Glasses, how does AI become “visible and tangible”?
Upon entering the Alibaba Cloud booth, the first thing that catches the eye is not the dynamic parameters on the large screen, but a pair of Qianwen AI glasses making their global debut.
After experiencing them on site, Phoenix Finance discovered that these glasses, weighing only 40 grams, can be considered a versatile assistant on the go.
According to the staff on site, real-time translation of 89 languages appears accurately on the lenses, instantly dissolving communication barriers; in front of the user, the teleprompter scrolls smoothly like subtitles, making it easy for the host to speak without notes.
The staff also demonstrated more scenarios: when encountering unfamiliar landmarks while traveling, just ask, and the AI large model will provide an instant answer; at the exhibition, it can also proactively remind of schedules, acting as a personal secretary.
What is even more exciting is its attention to detail. Addressing “myopia anxiety,” staff indicated that professional prescription services could be offered; to tackle battery life issues, a detachable battery design ensures all-day use; in terms of photography, a first-person perspective Vlog can be captured with just a hand raise.
All of this is condensed into a wearing experience close to that of ordinary glasses. AI is no longer a distant black technology but a daily reality that is visible and wearable.
Shifting focus from the glasses to another side of the booth, the long queue in front of the Winter Olympics interactive wall illustrates another dimension of AI’s “visibility and tangibility.”
On the wall, the spins and jumps of figure skaters are broken down into time-space slices of movement trajectories, with 360° real-time playback technology allowing every stunning moment to be captured and gazed upon.
Since first partnering with the Winter Olympics in 2017, Alibaba Cloud has injected AI into the entire chain of hosting, viewing, and participating in the Milan Winter Olympics.
This Milan Winter Olympics is hailed as “the most intelligent Olympic Games ever,” and this intelligence is reaching 206 countries and regions globally through Alibaba Cloud’s services.
The AI assistant of national Olympic committees manages over 100,000 knowledge assets, pushing thousands of high-quality content to OBS, making the stringent standards of top-tier events the hardest core endorsement for full-stack AI.
From a pair of glasses that understand the world to a globally impactful Olympic Games, Alibaba Cloud is transforming AI from a cloud concept into something everyone can touch in their daily lives.
02
What is “full-stack AI”? What gives it the confidence to challenge global giants?
AI is reshaping various industries, but the global AI sector faces two major dilemmas: monopolistic giants have raised the barriers to innovation, and challenges in computing power and deployment make practical implementation difficult.
In the AI domain dominated by Silicon Valley, what allows Chinese companies to “challenge”?
Ahead of MWC, a report from Gartner provided the answer: Alibaba Cloud ranks third globally and highest in the Asia-Pacific region across three dimensions of “characteristics” in GenAI cloud infrastructure, engineering, and models, with all four dimensions included in the emerging leaders quadrant.
This means Alibaba Cloud has become one of the few “cloud + AI” full-stack players with global competitiveness.
What is the basis for this? It is the complete closed loop of “full-stack.”
Globally, there are very few companies that have truly achieved full-stack AI. Alibaba Cloud’s “Full Stack AI” architecture has completed a full technological loop from bottom-layer IaaS (self-developed chips, global data centers) to middle-layer PaaS, then to MaaS, and finally to top-layer foundational large models.
It is this deep collaboration that allows Alibaba Cloud to provide end-to-end optimization solutions when facing challenges of “high computing costs, difficult deployment, and slow tuning.”
What is the basis for this? It is the inclusive ambition of “open source.”
While mainstream vendors build barriers with closed-source models, Alibaba Cloud has chosen a more challenging path. “Models are ultimately meant to nurture human life; they should benefit humanity.”
Qianwen has open-sourced over 400 models, covering all modalities and supporting 201 languages, with global downloads exceeding 1 billion and over 200,000 derivative models, resulting in an ecosystem that is more active than the total of the second to ninth ranked models combined. Meanwhile, the Qianwen 3.5 API charges only 80 cents per million tokens, less than 1/18th of international competitors, significantly lowering the barriers to innovation.
What is the basis for this? It is the infrastructure of “building roads.”
While most vendors are still focused on “hardware accumulation,” Alibaba Cloud has already begun constructing the roads on which AI needs to run: the Lingjun cluster supports 100,000 cards interlinked, with effective training time at 99% (the industry norm is around 90%), directly saving clients hundreds of millions in costs; the PAI platform enhances training performance by three times, increases reasoning throughput by 71%, and decreases cold start time by 89.8%.
As Alibaba Cloud’s Vice President of Intelligence, Cai Dezhong, stated: “Alibaba Cloud not only develops AI but also builds the roads on which AI runs.”
Technological depth, ecological scale, and commercial value—these three moats empower Alibaba Cloud to dare to wield its sword at the table of global giants.
From breaking monopolies to redefining ecosystems, from optimizing efficiency to lowering barriers, a more open and inclusive intelligent era is on the horizon.
03
The common choice of 5 million “super customers”: the AI implementation stories you may not know
The ultimate question of AI is how to let intelligence “take root.” At this year’s MWC, Alibaba Cloud provided a substantial answer: the enterprise-level Agentic AI development platform “Bailian Exclusive Edition” was officially launched.
If general AI is a “toolbox,” then it is a “precision operating room” tailored for highly regulated industries such as finance and healthcare.
Behind this platform is the deep co-creation between Alibaba Cloud and top global brands.
Alibaba Cloud partnered with AstraZeneca to integrate its medical knowledge base with the AnalyticDB vector engine and Qianwen large model, creating an intelligent reporting tool for adverse drug events, increasing report generation efficiency by 300% and improving accuracy from 90% to 95%, thus accelerating the identification and response to drug safety risks. In the smart automotive sector, Alibaba Cloud infused AI “soul” into BMW’s cockpit, enabling natural and smooth human-vehicle interactions through the empowerment of two intelligent agents.
At the same time, the international presence of Alibaba Cloud’s Qwen model is becoming increasingly powerful. Singapore’s national AI platform launched a Southeast Asian large model based on Qwen3-32B, ranking first among open-source models in multilingual assessments, and can run efficiently on notebooks with 32GB of memory.
In the face of Chinese companies’ “adaptation challenges” overseas, Alibaba Cloud is becoming the most reliable global partner. Authoritative reports indicate that Alibaba Cloud’s overseas competitiveness growth index ranks first globally, maintaining its leadership position for three consecutive years, and is the only Chinese cloud vendor to enter the leaders quadrant.
Freepik, with over 150 million users, collaborated with Alibaba Cloud to embed AI generation tools into its design resource platform, thus enhancing global creative workflows. By integrating Qwen and Wan, Freepik improved its understanding of long Chinese instructions, video dynamic realism, and lip-sync quality, driving global business growth and enhancing paid conversion rates.
Anker Innovation (300866) is leveraging Alibaba Cloud’s full-stack AI services to serve 200 million customers, using PAI and Qianwen large models to develop agents for translation, route planning, and more, integrating into the Alibaba AI ecosystem. Its smart audio brand soundcore headphones integrated with Gaode MCP, equipped with Qianwen Plus, support real-time translation in 100 languages, as well as encyclopedia Q&A. Additionally, over 300,000 Chinese enterprises, including Haier, BYD (002594), Bawang Tea, and miHoYo, have chosen Alibaba Cloud for their overseas ventures.
In 2026, Alibaba Cloud will also establish new data centers in ten countries, including Japan, South Korea, Brazil, and Mexico, further advancing its global presence.
Alibaba Cloud is not only a driver of commercial innovation but also a cornerstone of intelligence in key national industries.
In partnership with China National Petroleum, Alibaba Cloud equipped the globally top-three seismic exploration software GeoEast with an AI assistant, enabling a complex system that “can speak and understand” after over 20 years; during the Spring Festival travel season, the civil aviation network, as a “national artery,” is undergoing unprecedented tests. The collaboration between China Southern Airlines and Alibaba Cloud to create an exclusive cloud platform for autonomous aviation has become the “superbrain” of Southern Airlines’ digital operations, supporting over 200 million API calls in a single day, with core system availability reaching 99.99%.
From the “depth” of oil exploration to the “height” of aviation operations, it is these practices that concern the national economy and people’s livelihoods that forge Alibaba Cloud’s confidence to serve globally.
Currently, Alibaba Cloud has established a presence in 29 regions and 94 availability zones worldwide, serving over 5 million customers. BMW, LV, L’Oréal, Siemens, Starbucks, Marriott, and even the International Olympic Committee have entrusted their trust to Alibaba Cloud.
Continuous improvement has also garnered market recognition. In 2025, Alibaba Cloud added 38 AI technology services, achieving a service satisfaction rate of 98.95%.
From Singapore’s smart governance to AstraZeneca’s drug safety, from safeguarding 1.4 billion people’s Spring Festival travel to supporting the Milan Winter Olympics, Alibaba Cloud is demonstrating a simple truth through the practice of full-stack AI: the most powerful technology ultimately aims to make life just a little better for every ordinary person.
At MWC 2026, a Chinese company is redefining “global service” with technology.
And all of this is just the beginning.
