Iran bans ships traveling to and from enemy allies' ports from passing through the Strait of Hormuz

Today (March 27), the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement declaring that the Strait of Hormuz is now closed, and any attempts to pass through the strait will be met with severe retaliation. The statement also mentioned that any vessels traveling to and from ports of “enemy (U.S. and Israeli) allies and supporters” are prohibited from passing, regardless of their destination or route.
