On March 17, IT Home reported that AMD officially released a statement in response to the increasingly severe issue of Chuwei falsely labeling their laptop CPUs.

AMD stated that the company has recently become aware of media reports claiming that Chuwei has unilaterally misrepresented the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U product as the Ryzen 5 7430U. The official has never granted any form of authorization, confirmation, or tacit approval for the aforementioned behavior, nor has it participated in the labeling or promotional decisions regarding the related products, and is completely unaware of this incident.

AMD has clear and strict management regulations regarding product model naming, usage, and labeling. Any unauthorized false labeling behavior will severely disrupt normal market order and may mislead consumers. The official has taken this matter very seriously and reserves the right to pursue legal liability against the relevant parties in accordance with the law.

According to previous reports from IT Home citing Notebookcheck, Chuwei’s CoreBook X and CoreBook Plus laptops have been exposed for falsely labeling their CPUs, claiming to be equipped with the AMD Ryzen 5 7430U processor, while in fact, they are using the Ryzen 5 5500U.

As of the time of publication by IT Home, Chuwei has not responded to this matter.
