The Chinese Embassy in Japan has lodged a serious protest and strong objection with the Japanese side regarding the illegal intrusion by Japanese lawless elements.
March 24, the Chinese Embassy in Japan lodged formal representations and a strong protest with the Japanese side over the forced intrusion by Japanese lawless elements. The full text is as follows: In the morning of March 24, a person claiming to be a member of the Japan Self-Defense Forces climbed over a wall and forcibly broke into our embassy, threatening to kill Chinese diplomatic personnel in the name of so-called God. The incident seriously violates the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, poses a grave threat to the safety of personnel and the embassy premises, and is extremely malicious in nature. This development once again shows that ultra-rightist thinking and forces in Japan are very rampant, and the dangerous reality that the Self-Defense Forces’ buildup is out of control must draw the close attention of the international community. Our embassy has already submitted formal representations and a strong protest to Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, demanding that the Japanese side immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, severely punish the personnel involved, and provide a responsible explanation to the Chinese side. At the same time, it must effectively take measures to ensure the safety of personnel of our embassies and consulates in Japan, the embassy premises, and Chinese citizens in Japan, and prevent such incidents from happening again.
