People’s Finance and Economics News, March 17—On March 17, the National Energy Administration released data on total electricity consumption by the whole society for January to February. For January to February, total electricity consumption by the whole society accumulated to 1.65T kWh, up 6.1% year over year. By sector, electricity consumption in the primary industry was 22.3 billion kWh, up 7.4%. Electricity consumption in the secondary industry was 1.03T kWh, up 6.3%. Of this: industrial electricity consumption grew 6.4% year over year, and electricity consumption in high-tech and equipment manufacturing grew 10.6% year over year. Electricity consumption in the tertiary industry was 323.1B kWh, up 8.3%. Of this: electricity consumption growth rates for the charging and swapping services industry and the internet data services industry reached 55.1% and 46.2%, respectively. Electricity consumption for urban and rural residents’ living use was 281.3B kWh, up 2.7%.
