Mining Activity Slowdown Amid Decline in Digital Wallet Values

Along with the decrease in reserves, mining activity in Bhutan has experienced a noticeable slowdown. Recent blockchain data reveals that mining flows — which were previously a steady source of new Bitcoin for the country — have dropped below $100,000 per month, with no significant increases for over a year.

In earlier stages, hydroelectric-powered mining operations in Bhutan were considered the cornerstone of its digital asset accumulation strategy. The absence of large mining flows recently indicates a significant reduction or suspension of these efforts.

No official confirmation has been issued regarding the exact status of mining programs, making analysts rely on transaction data recorded on the blockchain. The lack of new flows supports the hypothesis of a halt or reduction in the mining initiative.
