On March 6th, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference. A Bloomberg reporter asked whether the spokesperson could clarify what kind of political or non-political support China is providing to Iran, as claimed by Iran’s Foreign Minister, that Russia and China are supporting Iran in political and other aspects. Does this involve military support? Mao Ning stated that China opposes the United States and Israel violating international law by launching military strikes against Iran, and supports Iran in defending its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and national dignity, as well as safeguarding its legitimate rights and interests. China consistently advocates resolving issues through political and diplomatic means, calls for an immediate halt to military actions, to prevent the spillover of conflict, and to avoid further escalation of the situation.
