Gate News reports that on March 10, a political action committee supported by Ripple Labs and other crypto companies, Fairshake, invested approximately $8.6 million in Illinois congressional elections. According to filings with the Federal Election Commission, the committee spent over $5.5 million opposing Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton's bid for Senate and about $1.8 million against State Representative La Shawn Ford's congressional run. The affiliated organization, Protect Progress, contributed around $174,000 to support Nikki Budzinski and Robin Kelly. Fairshake currently has $193 million in funds and has explicitly stated that it will "oppose anti-cryptocurrency politicians and support leaders who support cryptocurrencies" in the 2026 elections.
