US-Iran Conflict Impacts Energy Market, WTI Crude Oil Rises 4.5% to $96.65, Certain Whale Short Position Down $2.3 Million

Gate News: On March 19, due to the ongoing escalation of the US-Iran conflict, three Middle Eastern countries' oil facilities were targeted by Iran, causing international crude oil prices to rise. WTI crude oil (West Texas Intermediate, one of the international benchmark prices) increased by 4.5% intraday, reaching a high of $98, now at $96.65; Brent crude oil (North Sea Brent, another international benchmark) rose nearly 10% intraday, now at $107. On-chain data shows that a whale address on Hyperliquid (0x985) previously opened short positions on WTI and Brent crude oil around $91, with a total position of $29.5 million. The unrealized loss has now expanded to $2.3 million.
