EIA significantly raises oil price forecasts for 2026-2027, with Brent crude expected to reach $78.84 per barrel in 2026.

Gate News reports that on March 10, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) released its Short-Term Energy Outlook on March 11, significantly raising the forecast for crude oil prices in 2026-2027. The report shows that the expected Brent crude oil (one of the international benchmarks) price in 2026 is $78.84 per barrel, up from the previous estimate of $57.69 per barrel; for 2027, it is expected to be $64.47 per barrel, up from $53.00. The forecast for WTI crude oil (the U.S. benchmark) in 2026 is $73.61 per barrel, up from $53.42; for 2027, it is expected to be $60.81 per barrel, up from $49.34.
