Iran Advances Monetization of Strait of Hormuz Control, Proposes Charging Transiting Oil Tankers Approximately 2 Million Dollars

Gate News reports that on March 22, an Iranian source revealed that Tehran is advancing the “monetization of control over the Strait of Hormuz,” controlling who can pass through the strait and under what conditions. According to reports, each oil tanker passing through the strait must pay approximately $2 million. The source stated, “We will continue to suppress Israel and establish a new legal framework for the Strait of Hormuz.” The source also added that Trump should “accept Iran’s conditions for ending the war,” or he risks political suicide.
