OpenAI Announces Discontinuation of Sora Video Generation Service, Focusing on Enterprise Products in Preparation for IPO

Gate News Report, March 25 — OpenAI announced it will shut down the Sora video generation service to streamline its AI product lineup. The company made this decision six months after launching the standalone Sora app, aiming to prepare for an IPO planned within the year and to focus on enterprise-grade products. OpenAI’s Chief Financial Officer stated, “We need to build a company that is IPO-ready.” With the discontinuation of the Sora service, OpenAI will also terminate its partnership with Disney, announced last December.
