Gate News update, March 31, Mitsubishi Corporation plans to connect to JPMorgan Chase’s (a major U.S. financial institution) blockchain payment platform in the near term, becoming the first Japanese company to use the service. The service supports immediate international funds transfers, and JPMorgan Chase is also using this opportunity to promote its blockchain payment products to more Japanese businesses. Against this backdrop, Japanese financial institutions are continuing to accelerate their rollout of blockchain and stablecoins. Major banks including Mitsubishi UFJ and Mizuho are currently testing yen stablecoins, and Japan’s regulators are also considering approving the listing of crypto ETFs as early as 2028.
