Coinbase partners with the Linux Foundation to launch the x402 Foundation

BlockBeats report, April 3, Coinbase and the Linux Foundation partner to launch the x402 Foundation, aiming to manage the x402 payment standard with an open governance model. This standard is used to allow websites and APIs to directly request and receive payments through normal HTTP interactions, thereby creating a native payments layer for the web. As the original creator of the protocol, Coinbase has contributed the technology to the Linux Foundation to ensure neutral development; Coinbase and Base are still founding participants.
