The U.S. Senate Banking Committee is scheduled to review the nomination of Wash (Federal Reserve Chair) on April 16.

BlockBeats News. On April 4, an insider told CNBC that the U.S. Senate Banking Committee will hold a hearing on April 16 to consider Kevin Waish’s nomination to serve as the Federal Reserve Chair. A separate criminal investigation into the Federal Reserve is still ongoing, and it is reviewing whether the sitting Chair, Powell, made false statements to Congress regarding the expensive renovation of the Federal Reserve’s office building. Meanwhile, Waish’s nomination process is still moving forward, which means the two parallel tracks pushed by the Trump administration could end up coming into conflict.

Banking Committee member Thom Tillis has already said that he will not vote to confirm Waish before the investigation is concluded. This means Trump cannot advance both processes at the same time, but by continuing to push the hearing, Trump is clearly still trying to achieve that goal. The Senate Banking Committee has not yet put the hearing on the public calendar. (Jin10)
