Figure Lianchuang: A certain CEX sent an incorrect tax notice and obstructed the passage of the CLARITY Act

Gate News message, April 6, Figure co-founder and executive chairman Mike Cagney posted on X, saying that he recently received a 1099-MISC tax notice sent by a CEX Custody, showing last year’s income of 1,600 dollars, but the total assets across his three accounts are only about 10 dollars. After calling customer service, he was met with repeated runarounds, and ultimately was advised to “consult a tax advisor.” Mike Cagney also criticized the exchange for still obstructing the passage of the “CLARITY Act,” arguing that the blockchain industry no longer needs to care about their opinions.
