On December 2, Japan's 30-year government bond yield hit a record high, driven by persistently high inflation and increasing market expectations for a rate hike by the Bank of Japan later this month. Currently up by 1.5 basis points, it stands at 3.405%. Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda stated on Monday that the central bank will thoroughly discuss the possibility of raising interest rates at the upcoming meeting, which has heightened market expectations for a rate hike in the near term.
