A proverb from the Tao Te Ching says: "Knowing contentment avoids disgrace, knowing when to stop avoids danger, and thus you can endure long." Investing is like sailing a boat—when greed arises during profitable times, the boat is easily overturned. Once you have secured your expected returns, you should follow the principle that "when things reach their prime, they begin to decline; this is not the Tao," and be content with what you have gained.

Greed is the breeding ground for risk; restraint is the foundation for longevity. By keeping a heart of contentment and not chasing excessive profits, you can stand firm amid volatility, both preserving your gains and avoiding unknown dangers. This is precisely the wisdom Laozi offers as a path to security in investing.
