Hassett: It would be "irresponsible" to set the Fed’s interest rate target plan for the next six months in advance



According to Jinse Finance, White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett stated that it would be "irresponsible" for the Federal Reserve to set its interest rate target plan for the next six months in advance, emphasizing the importance of following economic data. In an interview with CNBC on Monday, Hassett said that the Fed Chair’s duty is to observe data, adjust policy, and explain the reasoning behind their actions. Therefore, if someone says “I will do this in the next six months,” that would indeed be irresponsible.
