The European Central Bank recently clarified that the technical and institutional preparations for the European digital currency are almost complete, and the official launch is no longer a technical issue but a stage of political and legislative decision-making. Currently, the project is under review by the Council of Europe and the European Parliament, and the final decision has been transferred to the EU legislative body.

European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde stated in her latest statement that the bank has completed all preliminary design work and system development, including the operational framework and risk management mechanisms. She said, "The Council of Europe and the European Parliament will then decide whether to accept the European Commission's proposal, whether it needs to be amended, and whether it should be turned into official legislation." She confirmed that the European digital currency is technically ready "and can be launched at any time."
