In 2025, Bitcoin ETP capital inflows have surpassed gold ETPs, and institutional allocation trends are quietly shifting.

【Blockchain Rhythm】An interesting phenomenon worth noting — this year, although gold prices performed remarkably, Bitcoin’s exchange-traded product (ETP) attracted even more funds. Bradley Duke, Managing Director of Bitwise, pointed out that by December, Bitcoin ETP inflows for 2025 have already surpassed those of gold ETP. What does this mean? From a certain perspective, it reflects an increasing market recognition of digital assets as a store of value. Whether institutional or individual investors, it seems, are re-evaluating their asset allocations. Gold, as a traditional safe-haven asset, remains solid, but Bitcoin, through standardized products like ETPs, is attracting more and more institutional capital. The turning point in 2025 is worth remembering.

Does the data show that surpassing gold ETPs is the end of the story? Then how do we explain the 2017 wave of the "never going to fall" rhetoric? Ironically, convenience often attracts retail investors who chase the high; the institutional allocation claim will have to be validated during a bear market. Interesting, another story where people think this time is definitely different. What about the lessons of history? Objectively speaking, capital flow does not equal value recognition. In 2008, a lot of money also flowed into risk assets. One of the signs of irrational prosperity is the fanatic praise for inflow data, and it’s always like this. I'm not trying to argue, but anyone who experienced the last cycle knows how dangerous this signal is.

Is gold about to be replaced? But on the other hand, this wave of institutional entry is really aggressive, with funds all rushing into Bitcoin...
