A serious address pollution attack has recently been exposed. According to on-chain monitoring data, a victim lost approximately $50 million in this attack.

Here's what happened: the attacker used an address pollution technique—simply put, forging a wallet address similar to a commonly used user address to trick users into transferring funds mistakenly. The stolen funds were then quickly exchanged for ETH and dispersed into multiple wallet addresses to obfuscate the trail.

Worse still, some of the funds have already flowed into mixers like Tornado Cash. Once in, tracking the movement of the funds becomes very difficult.

This case serves as a reminder to everyone: always double-check the recipient address before transferring—missing just one or two characters can lead to huge losses. Especially for large transactions, it's best to verify the authenticity of the recipient address through multiple methods—such as confirming via official channels, double-checking multiple times, or even testing with a small amount first. Address pollution may seem trivial, but the losses caused by human negligence are often the greatest.

$50 million just gone like that, oh my goodness... How can such basic scams still be effective? People are really too careless. --- Address pollution and Tornado mixing coins again, this combo is playing so smoothly... Poor guy. --- Copy-pasting addresses really needs to be checked multiple times. Missing by one or two characters means missing entirely. A painful lesson. --- How are there still people transferring without verification... $50 million gone down the drain. I need to reflect on whether I’ve been too careless myself. --- Once funds enter Tornado, they vanish into thin air, and no matter how much you chase, you can't catch them. That’s true despair. --- Every time I perform large transactions, I have to confirm the address three times. This has left a psychological shadow on me, not a joke. --- Address pollution, to put it simply, preys on human laziness. It’s not technically complex but extremely effective.

$50 million just gone like that, damn, how careless can you be Can't even copy and paste, brothers Tornado Cash is completely shut down now, that's why I verify ten times before transferring Small tests really save lives, but unfortunately some people find it troublesome Repeated occurrence of such basic mistakes, I don't even know what to say A difference of one or two characters can make a profit of 50 million, I need to be more careful Address pollution is an old trick, it's really incredible that people still fall for it

$50 million, just because of a few extra letters. This is too crazy... --- It's address pollution again. When will this thing finally settle down? --- Tornado Cash set, funds just evaporated into thin air. That's the scariest part. --- Honestly, it's still greed. Not carefully verifying large transfers. No wonder. --- Every time they say to verify the address, but when it's your own 50 million, you're still trembling. --- Why not confirm through official channels? Is it that difficult? --- This news will scare a bunch of newbies into obsessing over addresses every day. --- Once the mixer is washed, tracking is completely dead. This is the current dilemma. --- Seemingly simple things, but the losses are astronomical. Details determine life or death. --- Just a matter of one letter, and losing so badly. Truly speechless.

50 million gone just like that? I just want to know who is so careless, clicking on the wrong address... --- Again address pollution, really, it's always the same issue, how come some people still fall for it? --- Once you enter Tornado, there's no saving it. Mixer services are just black holes for funds, I'm speechless. --- Can't you copy and paste properly? For large transactions, don't you double-check the address? --- This guy must be really careless. 50 million just disappeared like that. I feel sorry for him. --- So, there's no absolute security on the blockchain. One wrong letter and it's all over. Just thinking about it is terrifying.

ngl address verification is literally asymmetric risk management 101... $50m gone bc someone didn't implement basic state validation checks lmfao. tornado cash laundering is the classic MEV extraction endgame nobody wants to admit exists. honestly the inefficiency vector here isn't even technical—it's pure human error creating liquidation cascades. seen this pattern too many times tbh.

$50 million just gone... A matter of seconds on the blockchain, there's no time to regret --- That's why I never transfer large amounts all at once; small tests have saved me countless times --- Once Tornado Cash gets involved, it's completely hopeless; tracking becomes like finding a needle in a haystack --- Haha, address pollution seems old-fashioned, but it can really deceive people. I know someone who got caught --- Verifying addresses sounds simple, but one wrong move and it's all over --- $50 million... That guy must be feeling terrible. No wonder everyone is starting to use hardware wallets --- I don't even dare to trust copy-pasting; I have to verify each digit one by one, or else I might be giving money to hackers for free
