The core development team is advancing a protocol optimization plan codenamed "Glamsterdam," aimed for implementation in 2026. This upgrade focuses on addressing the MEV (Maximum Extractable Value) issue that has troubled Ethereum for a long time.

The current situation is quite heartbreaking: nearly 90% of MEV profits are controlled by a small number of professional packagers. Looking at it from another angle, it’s like the liquidity profits of the entire market are being consumed by a few institutions, leaving retail investors with very little. The core innovation of EIP-7732 lies in the functional separation at the protocol layer—allowing block proposers and packagers to take on different roles, breaking the original profit monopoly and enabling a more decentralized distribution of MEV profits. This change theoretically allows more participants to benefit.

Another improved line is EIP-7928. The role of this proposal is equivalent to adding "data pre-check" capabilities to blocks, allowing nodes to know in advance the types of data they will process, which tests show can improve processing efficiency by more than 30%. In terms of user experience, this means a noticeable improvement in transaction confirmation speed and network throughput.
