Recently, I noticed the consensus upgrade proposal of Beldex, and this improvement idea is actually quite pragmatic.

The core idea is not complicated: to make block production more random and fair, while increasing the difficulty of prediction and manipulation.

Let's take a look at the current pain points. The PoS mechanism adopted by Beldex currently has a certain degree of centralization—about 11 validators take turns participating in block generation. While this ensures the operation of the network, such a fixed rotation mechanism can easily create predictable patterns. In the long run, this is not ideal for the decentralization and censorship resistance of the network.

The upgrade plan aims to break this fixed rhythm. By introducing more randomness and a fairer validator selection mechanism, it allows for a more open and dynamic participation right, which can protect the interests of small nodes while enhancing the overall security and decentralization of the network. From a technical perspective, this is a good evolutionary direction.

Breaking the fixed rotation is quite right, but 11 validators dare to boast about decentralization, I have to laugh Randomness can indeed prevent manipulation, but can it really be implemented? This trap logic seems reasonable, just afraid it's another case of talking on paper.

Ha, 11 validators take turns producing blocks? Isn't this just a centralized approach with a different name? Breaking the fixed rhythm is right, but we need to see how it actually performs. If it can truly prevent Large Investors from manipulating, then it will be a win.

This analysis by my brother is quite good. Breaking the fixed rotation is indeed necessary; otherwise, having 11 validators will make anyone feel anxious. To be honest, as long as the small nodes can have a better life, it's enough. They shouldn't be completely crushed by the large investors. However, we also need to guard against the random mechanism being exploited... If BDX can be implemented, that would be a win.

11 validators take turns to produce blocks? Isn't this just a disguised small circle? Only a true random mechanism can break this predictability, otherwise, it will eventually be exploited by Large Investors.
