Shares soared after the company successfully launched its 21st Electron rocket of the year, deploying the QPS-SAR-15 satellite for Japan-based Earth imaging firm iQPS in “The Wisdom God Guides” mission from New Zealand. The launch marked Rocket Lab’s 79th Electron mission overall and set a new annual record of 21 launches in a single year with 100% mission success, cementing Electron as the most frequently launched small-lift orbital rocket globally. The satellite will expand iQPS’ synthetic aperture radar constellation, providing near-real-time imagery across multiple orbits, with Rocket Lab now having deployed seven satellites for iQPS since 2023 and an additional five missions planned from 2026. The mission was Rocket Lab’s final scheduled Electron launch for 2025, with the next launch expected in early Q1 2026
