In this market with the most unpredictable fluctuations, there are many who make a hundred times their investment, but those who last until the end are much rarer. True trading wisdom often lies not in how to chase the price limits, but in how to survive longer.

A couple of days ago, a friend called me in the early morning, his voice filled with helplessness: "All in with 10x leverage, and just a 3% drop, and my account is wiped out." I opened his position and saw—9500U dumped in at once, without even a stop loss. A seemingly insignificant 3% Fluctuation completely destroyed his 10000U account.

Such stories are common in the trading circle. Many people have a deep-rooted illusion: that holding a full position can withstand the market. The truth is quite the opposite. Playing with a full position poorly is more lethal than any leverage.

**Position is the real killer**

Take out the calculator to do the math: with a 10000U account, using 9500U to open a 10x long position. As long as the market fluctuates against you by 3%, the margin loss will be 9500×10×3%=2850U. But his remaining margin is only 500U—this 2850U loss instantly blows through the entire account. Game over.

How about a different approach? With the same 10,000 U, you only use 1,000 U to open a 10x position. At this point, to get liquidated, the market needs to move against you by 50%. It's completely two levels of risk.

Position management is the knife that hangs over your head at all times. Leverage is just a tool, while position is the variable that determines life or death.

Many traders focus on the wrong things—they spend all day studying technical indicators and chasing hot currencies, while ignoring the most fundamental survival rules. Simply surviving long enough in this market means you've already beaten most people.

Full leverage is truly crazy; it blows up at just 3%. I just don't understand why some people still play so aggressively. Staying alive is the real winner.

9500U all in with 10x leverage? Dude, isn't this gambler behavior? This is just giving away money. --- To be honest, the winners who can leave the market alive are really few, most people just come to the market to contribute liquidity. --- Position management is worth more than any technical indicator, but unfortunately, most people simply don't understand it. --- 3% and you get liquidated? I just can't understand why some people still think about using all their positions to leverage, the problem isn't with the leverage. --- Living long means winning long, this saying is spot on, just afraid that some people insist on taking a risk to try it out. --- That dude probably needs half a year to accept the fact of having his account wiped out, too tragic. --- The saying that position is the killer is absolutely right, leverage is just a tool. --- Seeing them chase hot coins, I already know their fate of getting liquidated is set. --- 10x leverage and all in 9500U, with this mindset, let alone trading, even gambling on stones can bankrupt you.

Going all in is really suicide, that guy deserves it, he doesn't even have a stop loss and still dares to go all in, isn't this just gambling?

From the perspective of game theory in Risk Management, the core proposition of this article—Position management is superior to leverage choice—is fully established in the data. According to the on-chain Get Liquidated data model, within a 95% confidence interval, the bankruptcy risk of full position allocation indeed exhibits exponential growth. It is noteworthy that this phenomenon essentially reflects the issue of incentive incompatibility—the trader's short-term profit maximization is inherently opposed to long-term survival needs, leading to the so-called "survive to win" as an excellent insight for DAO governance.

fren's full position with 10x leverage blew up at 3%, it's really outrageous. I've seen several such operations, and they all ended the same way. The key is still not understanding position management. Leverage is just a tool; knowing how to use it and not knowing how to use it makes a world of difference.
