Recently, there is a number that is quite shocking—a satellite internet company's global active users have surpassed 9 million. However, what is even more telling than this number itself is how fast it has risen.

Looking back at the history, it took users 47 days to rise from 8 million to 9 million. Going back further, it took 274 days to rise from 7 million to 8 million, and 240 days to rise from 6 million to 7 million. What about even earlier? The first 1 million users took a full 730 days to accumulate.

This is acceleration — transitioning from annual growth to monthly and weekly growth. At this rate, we will be able to celebrate surpassing 10 million users by the end of January next year.

Why is it rising so fast? To put it simply, this project has already successfully implemented its business model. It is no longer in the ideal phase of burning money, but is now genuinely profitable and scalable. Moreover, there is no one in the market who can truly threaten its position. In October this year, this company deployed its 10,000th satellite in low Earth orbit, with nearly 9,300 actually operating in orbit.

Interestingly, the project leader also mentioned that this is just the beginning. Once the new generation of satellites and super heavy rockets are put into operation, there will be another wave of explosive growth in business. The goal of the new satellites is gigabit-level connection speeds—current connection speeds are around 100-300Mbps, which need to be increased by several times.

However, there is an even crazier idea brewing—using a modified new satellite equipped with AI chips and ultra-high-power solar panels to directly build a space data center. It sounds incredible, but the project leader says it is actually simpler than just developing a new satellite.

We should see experimental deployment in the middle to late of next year. Although this guy's schedule has always been unreliable, this time he does seem more confident. The fact that it took 47 days to rise by 1 million users shows that the product is really good now.
