Having been in the crypto world for many years, I have seen too many ups and downs. What is the deepest insight? Starting from one k and within six months reaching two hundred k, it was not luck that got me there, but a few strict rules I adhered to.

When I first entered the market, I had 1500 dollars in hand, and I was so nervous when placing orders. But precisely because the principal was small, I was forced to develop a cautious habit. Later, I realized that this caution was the true protective talisman.

**Article 1: Diversified holdings are the prerequisite for survival**

I divided that starting capital into three parts: one part is for short-term trading, focusing only on mainstream coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum, exiting with a profit of 2% to 4%, never lingering; another part is for swing trading, waiting for clear trends to act, holding for three to five days is enough; and the last part is my safety fund, no matter how the market plays with fire, I won't touch it.

Why is it divided this way? Full positions are the easiest to let people lose control. When the market rises, they feel euphoric, and when it falls, they feel despair. If the mindset collapses, trading is ruined. The data shows that those who diversify their positions have a significantly lower chance of encountering problems. You can only make money if you stay in the game, and the premise of making money is staying in the game.

**Article 2: Make money only in the trend**

The market is mostly sideways, with only about a 20% chance of a significant trend. Many people are going back and forth during the fluctuations, entering and exiting frequently, and in the end, the transaction fees go to work for the exchanges.

My approach is to casually watch the market and follow the trend when it appears. Once I enter the market, I lock in half of the profits after earning 12%, and let the remaining position continue to run. Money only counts when it is actually in my pocket; being greedy often leads to losses.

As for those small coins, the trick of doubling in a day and going to zero overnight looks tempting, but in reality, most of them are tools for harvesting. It's still more reliable to focus on Bitcoin and Ethereum; the liquidity and information transparency of mainstream coins cannot be compared to small coins.

$1,500 turned into $200,000, basically just surviving long enough. All-in positions have already been wiped out. --- Diversifying your portfolio is truly an art of survival. Otherwise, you'd have long become a withdrawal machine for exchanges. --- I'm also doing trend trading, but honestly, 80% of the time I'm losing on fees. That 20% chance is really tightly controlled. --- It's right to talk about capital preservation. How many people have gone all-in and HODL, only to be wiped out overnight? The mental blow is even worse than losing money. --- I've completely given up on small-cap coins. Too many players get chopped up like leeks. It's more reliable to stick to mainstream coins. --- Being alive is the key to making money, this really hits home. I've seen too many people get eliminated because of one greed-driven move. --- Taking 12% profit and cashing out is really worth learning. I used to keep trying to run further, but I always ended up losing. --- The lessons learned after paying so much tuition are just these few dead rules. Honestly, it's easy to say, but executing them really tests your willpower.

Damn, diversifying positions is indeed a well-known topic, but to be honest, I just haven't done it. I always want to go all in...

Damn, I've heard this story a hundred times, but it's really heartfelt. The part about diversifying holdings makes sense. --- Turning 1500 into 200,000 sounds great, but staying alive is really the premise... I've seen too many people go all in. --- Who the hell can really predict this "trend"? Anyway, I often operate in reverse. --- I've realized the concept of a safety net a long time ago; the key is whether one can really resist the urge to touch it. --- I haven't dealt with small coins doubling, but I'm really tempted; just a bit cowardly.

15,000 dollars in six months to 200,000? Buddy, I've heard this story too many times, the key is how many can actually live to cash out... The idea of diversifying positions is correct, but it's the simplest to say and the hardest to do. Among the people I know, very few can survive with a full position. Frequent trading feels like working for the exchange, that’s the harsh truth, but waiting for trends... what often comes is the reverse. I agree with not touching small coins, but sometimes when I see others making ten or twenty times, my hands still get itchy... that's the hardest part.

Really, turning 1.5k into 200k... Just hearing this number makes it clear what this guy has been through. But to be honest, I've long been familiar with this trap of diversifying my Position; the problem is that it's really hard to execute. Every time I think this time I can make a big profit, but in the end... forget it, I won't say anymore.

locking in profits at 12% hits different... the recipe really does matter more than the ingredients, ngl

Sounds good, but why do I feel like every time I hear people say this trap, they forget the rules when the real market comes?
