Looking back at 2025, among China's major internet giants' non-Gen AI products, the most eye-catching one for me is the "Gaode Street Sweeping Chart," which primarily measures how many people are willing to drive and repeat routes to visit a certain restaurant.
On one hand, it solves the trust issue in internet review systems. For example, within a year, a user traveling to Beijing's famous restaurant Jin Ding Xuan has a total navigation distance of up to 340,000 kilometers, equivalent to circling the Earth 8.5 times. Such data cannot be fabricated through fake orders or fake reviews; to some extent, it is akin to a "Proof of Work" in real life.
On the other hand, it also helps Gaode tap into the "grass-planting" commercial e-commerce scene. Over the past few years, it has served several AI travel planning products, and ultimately, everyone sees that the key is who can accumulate the most valuable "dirty data," who can gain the best insights, and who can make the best recommendations.
