What if a Base community decided to launch its own token collectively? Could they pull it off? Worth exploring how decentralized coordination on Layer 2 chains is reshaping community-driven token projects. Curious to see if this approach gains traction.

The routine of community-driven tokens has been heard too many times; how many can truly survive?
Doing this on Base feels vulnerable to vampire attacks; it still depends on how governance is designed.
I just want to know whether tokens issued this way will become another round of rug pulls, I'm a bit worried.
Decentralized coordination sounds great, but in reality, it's often a mess.
Big companies have already tried this model, but I'm quite looking forward to what kind of innovations the community can come up with on their own.

It sounds ideal, but can the Base community really hold up? Usually, it's the big players who call the shots.

Community-driven tokens sound good, but can they really be implemented... There are many such experiments on Base, most of which end up as worthless tokens.

Base community issuing its own token? Sounds romantic, but the reality is quite tough. Is it really feasible?

Base community issuing its own token? Sounds good, but it seems prone to failure.

Community issues its own tokens? Sounds great, but in reality, various disagreements during implementation can directly tear the community apart. Human nature problems are much more difficult than technical ones.

This is what Web3 should look like. The underlying logic of community autonomous token issuance is much clearer.

Does the Base community issue its own token? Sounds romantic, but can it truly achieve decentralized coordination? I think it's doubtful.

Trying to create community tokens on Layer 2... feels like repeating the mistakes of history.

Interesting, but the key is whether governance can truly be decentralized, otherwise it's just a different coat of the same old problem.
---
By the way, can this model really avoid being exploited? I have my doubts.

The advantages of Layer 2 are indeed obvious: lower gas fees, faster speeds, but can the community really hold it together...
---
Collectively issuing tokens sounds great, but in practice, there are a bunch of trivial issues to deal with.
---
It seems many projects boast about decentralized coordination, but in the end, a few big players still call the shots.

Another story of community-issued tokens, they all sound similar—ultimately either united or a complete mess.

The community token issuance scheme has been tried before, and the key still depends on whether governance is truly implemented.
Doing this on Base? It seems easy to become a pretext for cutting leeks.
Decentralized coordination sounds great, but in practice, it often turns into chaos.
For this to succeed, there must be a core team with strong execution capabilities; pure community self-entertainment is basically a no-go.
L2 ecosystems indeed offer new opportunities, but that doesn't mean community tokens can turn things around.
