Entering the ETF Market

Two days ago, the bank submitted applications to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch ETFs that replicate Bitcoin and Solana.

According to the documents filed with the SEC, the bank submitted S-1 forms for Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust and Morgan Stanley Solana Trust. For products related to Solana, the registration also includes the possibility of staking, which is a differentiating feature that can increase the fund’s potential returns by capturing network rewards while also benefiting from asset appreciation.

Opening Cryptocurrency Access to All Clients

Last October, the bank decided to expand access to cryptocurrencies for all clients (including retirement accounts). Prior to this, the option was only available to high-risk investors and clients with $1.5 million in assets.

Morgan Stanley is increasingly approaching the world of cryptocurrencies. In a report on October 1, the bank recommended allocating up to 4% of more aggressive client portfolios to cryptocurrencies.
