I overheard their conversation: they had only been working for a month or two, the factory was withholding wages, and they couldn’t pay rent, so they were kicked out by the landlord.

The girl said: "I'm a little hungry. A girl finished eating and left. She didn’t eat her egg tart. Can you get it for me? I feel embarrassed to go get it myself." The boy silently got up and brought it over. The girl took a few bites and fed it to the boy, who took a small bite and said: "I'm not hungry, you eat. When I get my paycheck, I’ll treat you to a set meal. Sorry."
It reminded me of the days when I first came to Shenzhen to work hard. I ordered a family bucket and a double set meal online, with a note asking the staff to speak softly and say it was a store promotion, only for this time, so they wouldn’t see the receipt. Not feeling at ease, I went over and whispered again. Two staff members delivered the food and also brought two ice cream cones separately.
I watched as they went from panicked and saying they didn’t order anything, to surprised and trying to refuse, then constantly thanking, and finally laughing and gobbling down the food, ending with a shared smile. My abilities are limited, and I didn’t do much. I wish them long-lasting happiness, that their relationship can withstand storms together, and be unbreakable.
