RTX Corporation announced a significant expansion of its aerospace manufacturing and maintenance operations in Singapore, marking another milestone in the region’s development as an advanced aviation hub. The company unveiled the new strategic MOUs at the Singapore Airshow, reinforcing its commitment to growth across Asia-Pacific.
Strategic Partnerships and Financial Commitment
The agreements represent over $139 million in investment and build upon a previous memorandum signed in July 2025. Through these MOUs with Singapore’s Economic Development Board, RTX positions itself to capitalize on rising regional demand for high-value aerospace services. The new capabilities are expected to reach full operational status by 2030, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul services.
Collins Aerospace Expands MRO Services
Collins Aerospace will enhance its maintenance, repair and overhaul capabilities to serve Asia-Pacific operators more effectively. The expansion includes advanced support for electrical power systems and environmental and airframe control systems. Notably, the company will introduce support for Boeing 777X Integrated Drive Generators and extend capabilities to the Boeing 787 fleet with new flight-critical products. This expansion directly responds to the growing maintenance demands from modern commercial aircraft operators across the region.
Pratt & Whitney will significantly bolster its GTF engine maintenance and manufacturing footprint in Singapore. The enhancement includes establishing a dedicated Fan Drive Gear System maintenance line at its Seletar facility and expanding coating operations at its Tuas location. These upgrades represent approximately 25 percent expansion of the Tuas site’s operational footprint, enhancing production capacity and service reliability for regional customers.
Building Long-term Regional Infrastructure
These MOUs underscore RTX’s strategic vision of establishing Singapore as a premier hub for advanced aerospace manufacturing and engineering. By concentrating complementary capabilities between Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney, the company creates integrated solutions that serve both current and next-generation commercial aircraft platforms. This approach positions RTX to capture growing maintenance and manufacturing opportunities as air traffic continues expanding throughout Asia-Pacific, while securing its competitive position in one of the world’s most dynamic aviation markets.
