Attacking your own child in front of relatives and strangers, and not giving your child dignity, is really a foolish consequence.
When I go back home during the New Year to visit relatives, I find that some relatives love to belittle and attack children in front of outsiders. But they can't say it directly, so they can only vent here. 1. Wake up, you argue with your child in front of outsiders, and others are not seeing the child's fault at all. They are watching a joke, laughing at how embarrassingly you are raising your child. As a parent, you've lost all dignity. 2. Put yourself in their shoes—if you see someone loudly scolding a child on the street, do you think the parents are impressive and good at teaching? No, you just think the parents are foolish and out of control. Similarly, when you do this, others see you as a foolish parent. What's even more sad is that these parents often try to please onlookers by belittling their children. Relatives and friends may outwardly agree, but inwardly they will look down on this family even more. Using your child's dignity to exchange a few idle words—are you worth it? Yes, you can educate your child behind closed doors, but you must leave some face for your child. ➡ Otherwise, the most hurt children are those who are publicly humiliated from a young age, developing inferiority and feeling they are unworthy and the worst deep in their bones. Moreover, children will grow up to be the worst version of what you fear. If you're irritable, they will learn to be irritable. If you speak with sarcasm, they will speak more sharply. Because parents are a child's mirror. If you chase your child on the street and scold him, he will get annoyed hearing your voice. His emotional instability is just a reflection of you. ➡ So, defending your child in front of outsiders is also defending yourself. Smart parents understand that family shame should not be aired publicly. A child's self-esteem is just as precious as yours. True discipline is something done behind closed doors. Don't wait until that door in your child's heart is completely closed to you, and then regret not giving him a little face.
