Japan Self-Defense Force officer breaches fence at Chinese Embassy in Japan, threatens to kill diplomatic staff; China lodges stern representations; suspect arrested
The young man who forcibly broke into our embassy in Japan yesterday morning is a third-class petty officer of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force named Murata Akihiro. Ironically, this person carried weapons on him and made threats to kill Chinese diplomats upon intrusion, but after being apprehended, he changed his story to claim "I came to express my views to the Chinese Ambassador in person."
