Golden Finance reports that on March 26, Elon Musk’s social platform X appointed seasoned crypto industry professional Benji Taylor as Head of Design, coinciding with the upcoming launch of X Money payment service in April.
Taylor previously served as Chief Product Officer at Aave Labs and was responsible for designing Coinbase’s Base blockchain network. He founded Los Feliz Engineering, which developed the self-custody wallet Family; the company was acquired by Aave Labs in 2023.
X product lead Nikita Bier stated that he has been following Taylor’s work for years and strongly advocated for his addition.
According to Musk, X Money will launch in April, initially supporting peer-to-peer transactions, bank deposits, debit cards, and cashback features, covering over 40 states across the U.S. Currently, there has been no official mention of blockchain or crypto-related functionalities for X Money.
