Recently, I needed an external HDD, so I did some research, and there are really a lot of recommended products. Storage capacity and transfer speeds vary greatly between brands, so I was confused. In the end, I decided to compare based on transfer speed, failure prevention, and actual usability. It seems that Buffalo and I-O Data are frequently ranked, especially models with transfer speeds over 200MB/s, which make moving videos and images super fast. Transferring a 5GB file takes about 30 seconds, meaning almost no waiting time. There are models that support TV recording, and some come with security slots. Prices range from around 10,000 yen to about 15,000 yen. If you're looking for recommended external HDDs, it’s best to judge based on transfer speed, heat dissipation, and whether they have failure prediction features. Models kept below 38°C are less likely to fail. Ultimately, choosing based on your specific needs is best, but when it comes to recommended external HDDs, I think the ones that balance reliability and speed tend to win.
