Tapeando 2026 has just started, and honestly, there's a lot going on with this tapas festival. From today until April 12th, you can try more than 150 options at restaurants across the region, from Buenos Aires to Mendoza, Rosario, and Mar del Plata. What caught my attention the most is that this year they are highlighting Madrid's cuisine, so let's hope to see some interesting proposals.
Eggs broken (huevos rotos) are everywhere in this edition. Casa Luis presents different versions with blood sausage, chistorra, and ham, which seems like a good way to start. But there are also other things that sound good: Antonio D offers fainá with smoked eggplant, Laserio bets on shrimp croquettes, and Pasillito has a garlic shrimp snack that sounds tempting. Canti also adds ham croquettes and chistorra omelet.
The interesting part is that more than 50 restaurants are participating in different cities. In North Zone, there's Alo's with their Socarrat pil pil; in Córdoba, Wineslavid proposes a mussel Russian salad; in Mar del Plata, Sarasanegro brings tuna mojama; and in Mendoza, Auténtico offers options with vegetables and spicy oil. There's quite a variety.
Another cool thing: there's a contest where the public votes for their favorite tapa, and the winning restaurant gets two tickets to Spain. Plus, for the first time, Tapeando is coming to Uruguay from April 17 to 26 in Montevideo. All the details are on Instagram @Tapeando.ok if you want to learn more about each restaurant and what tapas they offer. Has anyone already planned where to go?
