#Gate广场四月发帖挑战

“Crypto Black Friday” does not refer to a specific fixed date but is a general term for catastrophic events in the cryptocurrency market on Fridays, characterized by extreme crashes and large-scale liquidations. Based on historical and current (April 3, 2026) market conditions, this concept encompasses the following core logic:

1. The “Black” attribute of today’s (April 3, 2026) market

Today’s Friday (April 3), the market is experiencing a typical “quasi-Black Friday” shock:

Geopolitical Trigger: Threats from Trump to “vigorously strike Iran” have caused a surge in risk aversion, leading to a sell-off of risk assets.

Harsh Data: Bitcoin drops below $67k, Ethereum falls over 4%, nearly 190k people worldwide are liquidated in the past 24 hours, with total liquidation amount reaching $460 million.

Leverage Kill: High-leverage longs are forcibly liquidated in the sudden geopolitical reversal, creating a stampede effect.

2. Historical “Darkest Friday” cases

There are mainly two “Black Fridays” in crypto history that are etched in shame:

May 2022 (LUNA/UST collapse): Algorithmic stablecoin UST de-pegged, causing LUNA to plummet from nearly $90 to almost zero within days. Hundreds of billions of dollars in market cap evaporated, countless investors lost everything, and it is considered the most destructive “black swan” event in crypto history.

March 2020 (Pandemic Liquidity Crisis): Global financial markets collapsed, Bitcoin halved in a single day, crashing from nearly $8,000 to below $4,000, with leveraged investors wiped out instantly.

3. Why is “Black Friday” so destructive in crypto?

24/7 Nonstop: Unlike stock markets, crypto crashes on Fridays extend through the entire weekend, with no market close to buffer emotions, causing panic to ferment continuously.

High Leverage Chain Reactions: The crash triggers margin calls, forced liquidations (liquidations), which in turn create new selling pressure, forming a “death spiral.”

Narrative Reversal: Often accompanied by geopolitical conflicts (such as today’s Middle East situation) or fundamental logic collapse (like the failure of LUNA’s algorithm), representing a double kill of fundamentals and sentiment.

⚠️ Risk Warning

Today’s (April 3) market environment is similar to the pre-LUNA collapse in 2022—high leverage + sudden geopolitical events. If the Middle East situation worsens further over the weekend or if liquidity issues arise at exchanges, the current “big drop” could evolve into an even deeper “Black Friday.” Extreme caution is advised regarding high leverage and beware of the risk of slippage caused by weekend liquidity drying up.
