If you're still using TPS or on-chain gas fees to evaluate an infrastructure project, you might already be behind this cycle.

@RiverdotInc's projects focus on a deeper layer. They are not optimizing existing metrics but trying to fundamentally bypass these constraints. The execution layer is no longer bound to a single blockchain but becomes a resource that can be flexibly scheduled and allocated on demand. This is the core problem they aim to solve.
The logic behind this design is very clear: in the future, the on-chain world won't have just one main chain or a single execution environment, but multiple execution layers existing in parallel, allowing different applications to choose and combine based on their needs.
@River4fun is more like a testing ground for real users. Users don't need to understand the complex underlying architecture; they can directly perceive lower latency and smoother interactions during actual use. Once this experience is established, users will find it hard to go back to traditional on-chain models.
From the user's perspective, this transition is gradual and natural; but from the infrastructure competition landscape, it is actually rewriting industry rules. In the past, projects competed on who was faster and cheaper; in the future, the competition will be about who is more flexible and who can better adapt to diverse scenarios.
River @RiverdotInc is still in the early stages. What truly matters is not its current data but whether it can become a key node in the "execution layer abstraction" technical path.
If this hypothesis holds, River will no longer be just an ordinary application layer project but an indispensable piece of infrastructure.
