According to a survey by the University of Michigan, consumer confidence has fallen to a record low in April due to rising concerns over escalating energy prices and the broader impact of the Iran war.


The decline in sentiment coincides with a sharp increase in inflation expectations, with respondents predicting prices will rise by 4.8% over the next year, up one percentage point from the figure recorded in March.
