A mystery has appeared in the crypto market—one of those riddles that makes us wonder why биткойн was created by Сатоши Накамото as an anonymous project. The little-known company Laurore Ltd. suddenly announced a position of $436 million in the BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, and this sparked a storm of speculation in the crypto community.
The reason is that this position is almost entirely anonymous. Through Hong Kong registries, it was possible to trace a director named Чжан Хуэй with a passport from материковый Китай, but this name is so common in China that it is comparable to the name Джон Смит in the West. CoinDesk even found more than a hundred people with that name registered as directors of various companies in Hong Kong. Not surprisingly, the crypto community immediately started guessing who might be hiding behind this veil.
When CoinDesk journalists visited the address listed in the documents, they found a completely different company—Avecamour Advice Ltd. Laurore itself is not registered in Hong Kong, and it is owned by a company based in Британские Виргинские острова. The layers of the structure kept getting deeper, like a Russian nesting doll, and each layer only added more questions.
Analysts did not hide their confusion. James Seffert from Bloomberg spent nearly an hour trying to make sense of this scheme, but came away with nothing. Many began to speculate that it could be a capital outflow from материковый Китай, though that is only speculation. The company could simply be a family office or a fund that decided to place funds in a U.S. ETF, where liquidity is higher and fees are lower.
After persistent attempts by journalists to get answers, a Laurore representative finally broke the silence. He said the owner prefers to stay low profile, and that the position in IBIT reflects only personal investment conviction. Nothing more. No details, no names, no confirmations.
So you end up with a situation that, in some ways, resembles the very essence of bitкойн. Who Сатоши Накамото is—only Сатоши Накамото himself knows. The same is true for this investor: their identity remains just as mysterious as the creator of the first cryptocurrency. The only difference is that everyone knows who Сатоши Накамото is, but no one knows who this investor is.
When it comes to ultimate beneficial owners, large investors often hide behind several legal entities. This can be for tax purposes, to store assets, or simply out of a desire for confidentiality. And since these are private companies, they have the right not to disclose such information. The questions remain open: who is Avecamour, what is the connection between the companies, and how does this mysterious Чжан Хуэй fit into the whole story?
In the end, the crypto market has gotten used to anonymity. Who Сатоши Накамото is has never been revealed, and the world accepted that. Perhaps this Hong Kong investor simply follows the same philosophy—operating in the shadows, allowing the market to speculate and build theories. The riddle remains unsolved, and the $436 million position continues to stay silent, just like its owner.
